3 days road trip around Guatemala – 2nd part!

After another 4 hours driving and 20 minutes being sent against the person next to me in a small but very fast motor boat… we finally arrive in Livingston!

Livingston is a small city that you can access it only by boat, and once you reach this remote city, you immediately notice its African roots. This Guatemalan Rasta city has found its own balance between the cultures of Jamaica and Guatemala. It has a Caribbean charm that you immediately notice. White sand, blue sea, music in the streets…

There is something else that is different in this part of Guatemala… I don’t understand when people talk… no, this Caribbean atmosphere did not make me forget my Spanish. In Livingston, people speak Garifunda, a language that I have never heard before. They say that it is a mix of French, Italian and Spanish… the fact is that I don’t understand a single word! Luckily, they also speak Spanish…

Of course, English is not an option…

Everything is so different, everybody is so relaxed… don’t you want to be just like them? I definitely do! Time for me to look more like a local… Let’s do a before/after for this!

Transformation … succeeded! Let’s have some rest because tomorrow is Day 2, and we have many other adventures waiting for us!

On my way to Guatemala...

Hi everybody!

Many of you are asking me when I will write about my trip and show you the pictures... What about now?

But of course, the ones who know me well know that it is not possible for me to take a plane without taking pictures of the clouds, so when I take a plane at sunset, I have to take pictures!!
So, I will start with my best pictures of the clouds during sunset! Sorry, you will have to wait again for the pictures of Guatemala. Don't worry guys, it won't take me a lot of time. You will see them soon!

But now: le soleil couchant, vu d'en haut! Un peu de romantisme dans ce monde de brutes... =)

There is nothing better than a stewart asking you "do you want a cheeseburger with salad?". I sware that I really wanted to answer, no, just the cheeseburger, you can keep the salad! ;-)

Ready to visit Washington?

Bon, ce blog post sera francophone, sorry for the few English speakers who know that I was in DC... (I love you guys, but you know DC, or you're going there soon...)

Je vais faire ça en plusieurs posts, d'abord une vue générale, puis la parade et les feux d'artifice du 4 juillet, puis les vues depuis le haut du Washington monument (et ouais, j'ai trop la classe, je sais...)

Autre chose, pour des raisons personnelles et professionnelles (certains d'entre vous voient ce que je veux dire, merci de ne pas divulguer mon coté bad girl sur internet), j'effacerai ce blog post dans une semaine à peu près, donc ne vous inquiétez pas s'il disparait...
